Located within the Teton Springs Golf and Casting community in Victor, Idaho, the Rammell Residence draws from prairie architectural principles while responding to rigorous neighborhood design guidelines and the surrounding mountain landscape. Horizontal massing, sheltering roof forms, and carefully proportioned openings establish a quiet architectural presence while reinforcing the home’s connection to its site.
Challenging subsurface soil conditions required a specialized structural approach. Helical piers and reinforced grade beams were employed to establish a stable foundation system while minimizing disturbance to the land and preserving the intended building elevations and proportions. This solution ensures long-term structural performance while maintaining the architectural integrity of the design.
The exterior envelope incorporates prefabricated steel panel cladding, detailed to emphasize linear continuity and durability in the alpine climate. Integrated glazing assemblies frame views outward while allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the interior during winter months, while broad eaves provide solar shading during the summer.
Trimbach provided residential design, construction documentation, interior design, and landscape design consulting, and designed and coordinated fabrication of the exterior steel panel cladding system, including on-site installation oversight.
